Dental Implant Instruments

BusinessMed® Dental Implant Instruments are the kits used to prepare an implant site and place the implant: osseodensification bur kits that widen the site by compacting bone, sinus lift kits for crestal and lateral sinus floor elevation, and implant drill kits with sequential twist drills and stoppers. Ridge expansion, tissue punch, bone collector, drill guide and prosthetic driver kits complete the range.

Types of dental implant instruments

Osseodensification bur kits

Osseodensification Bur Kits hold graduated bone condensing burs in diameter series, with a pilot drill and parallel pins: the burs compact bone outward into the walls of the site instead of removing it. Choose this group for implant sites in low-density bone and for crestal sinus floor elevation; it also holds the bone expander, tissue punch, surgical drill and prosthetic driver kits.

Sinus lift kits and implant drill kits

Sinus Lift Kits and Implant Drill Kits combine crestal reamers and lateral window drills with depth stoppers and lining elevators, and hold the implant drill kits — sequential twist drills from a pilot drill upward, with drivers and a wrench. Choose this group to raise the sinus floor or to prepare a standard implant osteotomy; the bone collector, ridge expander and drill guide sets are here too.

How to choose dental implant tools

  • By step. Site preparation → an implant drill kit, or an osseodensification kit where bone density is low; too little bone height under the sinus → a sinus lift kit; a narrow ridge → a ridge expansion set; flapless access or uncovery → the tissue punch kit; screws on the abutment and restoration → the prosthetic driver kit.
  • Crestal or lateral sinus approach. Crestal kits work through the implant site with reamers and depth stoppers; lateral kits open a window in the side wall of the maxilla. Bone condensing burs belong to the crestal approach.
  • Depth control. Stoppers set the working depth of each drill or bur; in stopper drills the depth is part of the drill.

What are dental implant instruments used for?

Implant osteotomy preparation and insertion, osseodensification in low-density bone, crestal (transalveolar) and lateral sinus floor elevation and sinus grafting, ridge expansion, autogenous bone harvesting, flapless access and implant uncovery, pilot drilling with a guide, and seating abutment and prosthetic screws. Implant instruments are sold as kits: each dental implant kit page lists its own contents.

How BusinessMed implant tools are made

Each kit holds stainless steel burs, drills, stoppers and hand instruments in a kit case or bur box, as listed on its page. The kits are reusable, autoclavable and sterilizable.
