Dental Tray

BusinessMed® Dental Trays fall into two groups that do different jobs. Impression trays carry impression material to the mouth for full-arch, full denture and sectional impressions; sterilization trays and cassettes hold hand instruments together through washing, sterilization, storage and transport.

Types of dental trays

Impression trays

Stainless steel stock trays in numbered sizes for dentate and edentulous arches, upper and lower, perforated or solid, plus partial, quadrant and swivel trays. Choose these when a dental tray is needed to take an impression. → Dental Impression Trays

Sterilization trays and cassettes

Scaler trays, a scaler cassette, a 20-piece tray, a locking tray, a wire mesh box, a surgical tray and a set of 4. Choose these when the dental instrument tray has to carry a set through the autoclave and into storage. → Dental Cassettes and Sterilization Trays

How to choose dental trays

  • Impression or instruments. Dental trays for impressions hold material in the mouth; sterilization trays hold dental tray instruments outside it. The two are not interchangeable.
  • For impressions: decide dentate or edentulous, then the size number, then perforated or solid by the impression material.
  • For sterilization: decide by what goes in — the scaler trays and cassette for scalers, the dental surgical tray and the set of 4 for general use.

What are dental trays used for?

Impression trays take study-model, complete-denture and crown-and-bridge impressions. Sterilization trays keep an instrument set together from the chair to washing, sterilization and storage.

How BusinessMed dental trays are made

The impression trays are German stainless steel, reusable, autoclavable and covered by a 5-year warranty; material and specifications of the sterilization trays are on their product pages.
