How to choose a cheek retractor

  • Surgery or treatment. Flaps and the tongue at extraction and implant sites → Minnesota, Cawood-Minnesota, Weider, Shuman or Simion; lips and cheeks during restorative work, bonding and photography → the double-ended, lip and vestibulum retractors.
  • Grip on tissue. Serrated Minnesota ends hold tissue without slipping.
  • Photography. A black or double-ended retractor keeps the lips and cheeks out of frame; photography mirrors are in Intraoral Photography Mirrors.
  • Patient size. Double-ended patterns put an adult and a child end on one dental retractor.

What are dental cheek retractors used for?

Retracting mucoperiosteal flaps, the cheek and the tongue in extractions, flap, periodontal and implant surgery; holding the lips and cheeks aside during restorative work, examinations and orthodontic bonding; and opening the lips and cheeks for intraoral photography.

How BusinessMed cheek retractors are made
