Types of endoscopic brow lift instruments

Daniel endoscopic forehead pattern

Daniel elevators work in the subperiosteal plane; the quarter curve suits most patients and the half curve a high hairline, with rounded edges and semi-sharp tips. The set includes the Daniel endoscopic forehead scalp elevator in straight, half-curved and angled-tip versions, suction elevators, the orbital rim dissector with a sharp tip on a half-curved shaft, nerve dissectors, left and right nerve hooks and nerve retractors, a curved-shaft knife handle, scissors, grasping forceps and cup biopsy forceps.

Ramirez endoscopic series

Ramirez described endoscope-assisted subperiosteal forehead and face lifts; dissection starts with the slightly curved periosteal elevators of the series. The range has the flap, frontotemporal, frontoglabellar and temporal line (T) dissectors, the arcus marginalis dissector whose tip accommodates the orbital rim, a parietal periosteal elevator, a periosteal spreader, and the midface fascia dissector and zygomatic arch elevator for the endoscopic face lift.

Other dissectors

The Del Campo dissector has a long malleable shaft with a tungsten carbide edge for hard-to-reach areas; the Graivier hockey-stick midface dissector and a scalp suction elevator complete the range.

How to choose

  • Plane and region. Frontal subperiosteal (Daniel and Ramirez elevators), temporal line and arcus marginalis (Ramirez T and A/M dissectors), midface and zygomatic arch (Ramirez midface patterns, Graivier).
  • Curve. The elevator instruments come in a quarter curve for most foreheads, half curve for a high hairline, straight for flat areas.
  • Suction. Suction elevators clear the optical cavity while elevating.
  • Nerve work. Nerve hooks, dissectors and retractors come left and right.

What are endoscopic brow lift instruments used for?

Endoscopic forehead lift and brow lift, where the supraorbital and supratrochlear neurovascular bundles are identified and preserved; endoscopic midface and face lift; and scalp flap elevation.

How BusinessMed endoscopic instruments are made

German stainless steel with a satin, non-reflective finish; tungsten carbide edges where the product name says so. Reusable, autoclavable, 5-year warranty. Endoscopes and light sources are not part of this range.
