Endodontic Rulers

BusinessMed® Endodontic Rulers measure instrument and material lengths during root canal treatment and on the laboratory bench. The range has two: a finger ring endo ruler that keeps its scale in the working field while files are measured and their stops set, and a flat stainless steel ruler graduated in inches and centimeters for the tray and the bench.

Types of endodontic rulers

Endo ring ruler

The endo ring ruler sits on a finger, with a scale up to 3.5 cm. A file is laid against it and its length is read and set without putting the file down or reaching for a ruler on the tray — the endo ring is used for hand and rotary files and for spreaders, pluggers and points.

Flat stainless steel ruler

The 6-inch stainless steel ruler carries inch and centimeter scales on one blade, so a length can be read in either system — a stainless steel mm ruler that stays with the restorative or endodontic set and goes through the same sterilization as the instruments it measures.

How to choose an endodontic ruler

  • Chairside file work: the ring keeps the endo ruler on the hand during instrumentation and obturation.
  • Tray and laboratory: the flat stainless steel ruler measures longer items, models and laboratory work.

What are endodontic rulers used for?

Measuring files and setting their stops to the working length; checking the length of spreaders, pluggers and points during the procedure; and measuring instruments, materials, models and laboratory work at the chair and on the bench.
