Fine Tapered Atraumatic Tips with Horizontal Serrations Along Full Jaw Length
The Fine Tapered Atraumatic Tips engage the follicular unit graft at the tissue depth above the follicular bulb, enabling atraumatic lift from scalp dermis and subcutaneous tissue without severing hair matrix cells. The None (non-toothed serrated variant) jaw surface engages follicular unit soft tissue through friction and distributed serration load rather than tooth penetration. The Horizontal Serrations Along Full Jaw Length distribute pinch-grip load across the full jaw contact surface, providing secure mechanical purchase without concentrating compressive force at a single point.

The Flat Spring-Action Thumb Forceps, Non-Ringed, Pinch-Grip Operation returns the jaws to the open position upon release. The non-ringed configuration allows immediate release without a ring-lock disengagement step, reducing instrument manipulation time during sequential follicular unit collection.

BusinessMed® Adson Extracting Forceps acts on follicular unit soft tissue — comprising sebaceous lobules, erector pili muscle, perifollicular vasculature, epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous fat — which is sensitive to mechanical compression, desiccation, and ischaemia during ex-vivo handling. The instrument enables the surgeon to assess whether the follicular unit is atraumatically liftable without transection or crush injury, with FOX test resistance assessment informed by forceps traction. The principal intraoperative complications are follicular transection — permanent follicular unit destruction from excessive grip, incorrect angulation, or wrong-depth engagement — and perifollicular crush injury, defined as damage to the perifollicular neurovascular network that reduces graft viability without outright transection. The clinical ceiling for follicular transection rate is 5% for FUE and approximately 2% for FUT; rates exceeding these thresholds indicate instrument or technique failure. Perifollicular crush injury is clinically distinct from follicular transection: a visually intact graft sustaining sufficient neurovascular compression is non-viable post-implantation. The non-toothed serrated jaw configuration is the instrument-level mitigation specific to this injury pathway.
